Every single season it’s always the same fashion items that appear in the stores- similar styles different colors. Our needs were not being met and this proved a dilemma for so many of us looking for modern and modest fashion. Women wanted sustainable fashion items that were longer in length, higher in necklines, not very sheer fabrics nor too fitted.
Thus Moda Modesté started taking shape. We realized there was a whole market of stylish women who needed and wanted something different.

Most of her friends and family who had similar issues kept urging for the idea to grow and become a reality. Thus the quest began. The mission was to find fashion styles that ticked boxes . Hours were spent researching and tracking fashion trends. Facebook,magazines,internet and fashionistas Instagram accounts were stalked. The more we discussed our findings the more they encouraged us to ‘open up.’ We are tired of ‘layering’ especially with the South African weather or running up and down to the ‘dressmaker-there’s just no time’ . We searched for clothes with different style lines and colors, that covered up strategic areas, comfortable, good enough for work, home or a visit to family and friends.
